Matthew
7:21-23
21
"Not
everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of
heaven,
but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22
On
that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in
your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works
in your name?' 23
And
then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you
workers of lawlessness.'
( Wow! Prophesying and casting out demons in Jesus' name and he still did not know them. That makes me tremble a little. )
Mark 7:6-8
6
And
he said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as
it is written, "'This people honors me with their lips, but
their heart is far from me; 7
in
vain do they worship me,
teaching asdoctrines the commandments of men.' 8
You
leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men."
Matthew 5:20
20
For
I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and
Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Mark 10:25
25
It
is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a
rich person to enter the kingdom of God."
John 5:44
44
How
can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not
seek the glory that comes from the only God? ( Good question!)
Romans
1:21-22
21
For
although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks
to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish
hearts were darkened. 22
Claiming
to be wise, they became fools,
( Scary )
Romans 2:1
1
Therefore
you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in
passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the
judge, practice the very same things.
John 1:10-13
10
He
was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world
did not know him. 11
He
came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12
But
to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of God, 13
who
were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will
of man, but of God.
Romans
3:23-25
23
for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24
and
are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is
in Christ Jesus, 25
whom
God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by
faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine
forbearance he had passed over former sins.
Philippians
2:7-11
7
but
made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the
likeness of men. 8
And
being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to
the point of death even death on a cross.
9
therefore
God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above
every name, 10
so
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on
earth and under the earth, 11
and
every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God
the Father. :) ( I can't wait for the day!)
John 1:29
29
The
next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the
Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John
6:63-64
63
It
is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words
that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 64
But
there are some of you who do not believe."
John 6:44
44
No
one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.
( pray that God would draw your heart to himself.)
Romans
10:9
9
because,
if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. :)
Romans
6:17-19
17
But
thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become
obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were
committed, 18
and,
having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.
19
I
am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For
just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to
lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members
as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.
Romans
5:1-5
1
Therefore,
since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ. 2
Through
him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we
stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3
More
than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering
produces endurance, 4
and
endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5
and
hope does not put us to shame, because God's love
has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been
given to us.
1-Corinthians
13:4-8
4
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
5
or
rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or
resentful; 6
it
does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7
Love
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all
things. 8
Love
never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues,
they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
Luke
6:27-28
27
"But
I say to you who hear, Love
your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28
bless
those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Ephesians
1:5
In
love
5
he
predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to
the purpose of his will,
1-Corinthians
13:1
1
If
I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love,
I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
Romans
13:8
8
Owe
no one anything, except to love
each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
1
Corinthians 13:1
1
If
I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love,
I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
Romans
12:9-13
9
Let
love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in
showing honor. 11
Do
not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
12
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be
constant in prayer.
13Contribute
to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Romans
8:26-28
26
Likewise
the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit
himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27
And
he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because
the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28
And
we know that for those who love God all things work together for
good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans
12:1-2
1
I
appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present
your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which
is your spiritual worship. 2
Do
not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal
of your mind,
that by testing
you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable
and perfect.
Romans
8:31-32
31
What
then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be
against us? 32
He
who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he
not also with him graciously give us all things?
Romans
16:17-18
17
I
appeal to you, brothers, to
watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstaclescontrary
to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.
18
For
such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites,
and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
Romans
10:14-15
14
How
then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how
are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?
And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15And
how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How
beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!"
